Every story is generated fresh from your own cast, trope and heat setting the moment you ask for it. We keep no library of pre-written stories, and your library is private to your account.

Being straight with you about the technology, though: this is a language model, and it is probabilistic rather than magic. Two people who choose a very similar premise can get passages that feel similar. We won't claim otherwise.

Chapters run about three minutes each. A story continues chapter by chapter for as long as you want to keep going, and you can stop after any chapter — your place is saved.

That's the point. Give a name, a job and answers to three questions, and that character is yours. You can keep them private or submit them to be published so other writers can cast them — published submissions are reviewed first.

Yes. Chapters can be narrated aloud in your choice of a male or female voice, so you can listen in the dark instead of reading. The narration is generated by text-to-speech, not recorded by human narrators.

A ceiling from one to five, sweet through explicit. Whatever you set, the story is written to stay inside it — including when a trope would normally push further. New readers start at three, and explicit only unlocks when you raise the ceiling deliberately. You can change it any time.

Sexual content involving minors or anyone depicted as a minor, and sexual content depicting a real, identifiable person without their consent. These are absolute prohibitions, not preferences, and they apply regardless of what a prompt asks for.

Yes. Content & Boundaries in the app takes a free-text avoid list of words and phrases that should never appear in anything written for you.

Your heat ceiling and boundary choices are stored on your own device, not in your account. The one exception is your avoid list: because stories are written on our servers, that list travels with each generation request so it can actually be honoured. The app says the same thing at the bottom of the boundaries screen.

Nobody at Velvet browses your library. See the privacy policy for the full picture of what is and isn't stored.

Velvet+ raises your daily allowance from one story token a day to three, and unlocks narration on every chapter. Current pricing is shown in the app and on your store listing before you confirm anything — it varies by country, so we don't quote a single figure here.

Yes, and it needs no card. Free accounts get one story token a day, which refills daily. Tokens can also be bought in packs without subscribing.

Through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings — Account → Subscription in the app links straight there. You keep access until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Account → Subscription → Restore purchases re-syncs from the store. If that doesn't resolve it, contact support with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.
